“Baku Marathon 2023”
KRF will organize a tree planting event in Karabakh on behalf of the winners of “Baku Marathon”
With the organization of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, this year's Baku Marathon is scheduled to take place in Baku on May 7th.
The marathon, held under the slogan "Win the Wind" is an important social event that brings people together and promotes a sense of unity and solidarity among the population, as well as advocating for a healthy lifestyle.
It is noteworthy that this year, the Karabakh Revival Fund will participate as a partner in the marathon.
The purpose is to draw the attention of participants and spectators to the damage caused to the environment around Karabakh as a result of the Armenian occupation, and the necessity of eliminating this damage. To this end, the Karabakh Revival Fund and the fund's donor, the "Stevedoring" company, plan to establish a "Marathon Garden" in Karabakh with the financial support from the winners of the "Baku Marathon - 2023."
More than 1500 trees will be planted in this garden and a modern irrigation system will be installed to ensure their durability. Additionally, on May 7th, a special green pavilion called the "Marathon Garden" will be created by the KRF in the fan zone of the marathon.
Visitors to the pavilion will receive information about the Fund’s activities and projects, as well as have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the "Urbicide in Karabakh" photo exhibition, featuring photos of cities, villages, historical and religious monuments distributed by Armenian occupiers in Karabakh.
Moreover, visitors will be able to support the establishment of the "Marathon Garden" in Karabakh by donating trees through payment terminals and smartphones installed at the stand. Donors will receive special "Donation Certificates."
Guests of the pavilion will also be provided with refreshing drinks and special amenities for entertainment and relaxation.
It is worth noting that supporting ecological projects is one of the strategic directions of the Fund’s activities. To this end, on September 23, 2021, a Memorandum was signed between the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources and the Karabakh Revival Fund regarding cooperation in the restoration of the environment and infrastructure in the liberated territories.
