Participation of the Karabakh Revival Fund in the "Baku Marathon 2024":
On May 5, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation once again organized the annual Baku Marathon.
The Karabakh Revival Fund once again participated as a partner in this year’s marathon, held under the slogan “Win the Wind”.
In alignment with the declaration of 2024 as the "Year of Solidarity for a Green World" by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, and recognizing the restoration of ecological balance in the liberated territories as one of Karabakh Revival Fund key priorities, the Fund established a special green pavilion titled "Marathon Garden" in the marathon’s fan zone.
The uniquely designed pavilion, focused on environmental protection, attracted significant interest from marathon participants.
Prominent public figures, veterans of the Patriotic War, youth, foreign guests, and other attendees visiting the pavilion received extensive information about Karabakh Revival Fund’s projects. These included the creation of a forest area of 30,000 trees at the entrance of Zangilan and the development of Fuzuli Central Park in Fuzuli, both funded and commissioned by the Fund. These included the establishment of a 30,000-tree forest at the entrance of Zangilan and the development of Fuzuli Central Park, both funded and initiated by the Fund. The projects were presented visually through an interactive monitor.
Visitors also had the opportunity to learn about the ecocide – the environmental genocide – committed by Armenian occupiers in Karabakh.
Additionally, brochures highlighting Karabakh’s natural monuments were distributed to pavilion visitors.
The Karabakh Revival Fund also engaged children by presenting special gifts to those from the Rehabilitation Center for Individuals with Down Syndrome, part of the “Care for a Healthy Generation” Public Union, during their visit to the pavilion. The children took part in drawing activities and various games.
Marathon participants showed great interest in the quiz organized by the Karabakh Revival Fund, titled “Know and Love Karabakh”. Those who correctly answered questions about Karabakh received gifts from the “Incredible Karabakh” t-shirt collection, featuring symbols of the region.
Twenty-one members of the Baku Marathon Club also represented the Karabakh Revival Fund in the race, competing under the slogan " Win for Karabakh!"
