A discussion on “Ensuring Transparency and Competitiveness in the Context of Combating Corruption in the Reconstruction and Restoration Works Carried Out in Karabakh” was held

During the event, detailed information was provided on the objectives of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On Combating Corruption” and the amendments introduced in 2025, as well as mechanisms for managing corruption risks and reporting.

The event, held in a videoconference format at the initiative and with the organization of the Karabakh Revival Fund, was attended by the President of the International Eurasia Press Fund, Umud Mirzayev; the Director of the Elite Gymnasium named after Ilyas Afandiyev, Saadat Cahandarova; the Editor-in-Chief of the 1news Information Agency, Kamala Mammadova; the Director of the Report Information Agency, Fuad Huseynaliyev; the Director of Corporate Communications at the Veyseloglu Group of Companies, Sanubar Nazarova; as well as heads of structural departments of the Karabakh Revival Fund, representatives of commercial entities, donor companies, and members of the media and the public.

It should be noted that the event was organized to implement tasks under clauses 5.1 and 6.9 of the National Action Plan for 2022–2026 on Strengthening the Fight against Corruption, approved by the Presidential Decree No. 3199 dated April 4, 2022.

During the event, discussions focused on ensuring transparency and competitiveness in the reconstruction and development works carried out in the liberated territories under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, as well as on the key tasks ahead in this direction.

It was emphasized that, in order to ensure maximum transparency, the Karabakh Revival Fund allocates financial resources in accordance with the requirements of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On Grants” and the Fund’s “Rules for Grant Allocation.” It was also highlighted that the Fund’s activities are built on the principles of transparency, accountability, and close cooperation with society.

It was noted that this is further confirmed by the opinion issued on the Fund’s financial statements by PwC Azerbaijan, one of the world’s leading audit companies. In addition, the regular public disclosure of the Fund’s financial statements demonstrates that donated funds are managed in a transparent manner.

In their remarks, the President of the International Eurasia Press Fund, Umud Mirzayev; the Editor-in-Chief of the 1news Information Agency, Kamala Mammadova; the Director of the Report Information Agency, Fuad Huseynaliyev; the Director of Corporate Communications at the Veyseloglu Group of Companies, Sanubar Nazarova; and other speakers underscored the importance of ensuring transparency in the process of Karabakh’s reconstruction. They highlighted the responsibility borne by the media and civil society in this regard, the role of open and reliable information in establishing effective communication with the public, and the contribution of transparency to fostering public trust.

At the conclusion of the event, it was emphasized that national unity and solidarity are leading priorities in the destiny of the Homeland, and that active participation by everyone is essential for the revival of Karabakh.
