Under the organization of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the Baku Marathon took place on May 7.
The Karabakh Revival Fund participated as a partner in this year's marathon, themed "Win the Wind".
It should be noted that within the framework of financial support from the Karabakh Revival Fund and its donor company "Stevedoring," plans are underway to establish a "Marathon Garden" in Karabakh as part of the "Baku Marathon - 2023" winners' initiative. More than 1500 trees will be planted in the garden, and a modern irrigation system will be installed to ensure their sustainability.
In the near future, a visit to the area where the "Marathon Garden" will be planted will be organized by the KRF with the participation of the winners of the Baku Marathon and members of the Baku Marathon Organizing Committee.
During the award ceremony for the marathon winners, Rahman Hajiyev, the chairman of the Executive Board of the Karabakh Revival Fund, presented a special tree donation certificate to the Baku Marathon Organizing Committee on behalf of the winners.
It should be noted that a special green pavilion called the "Marathon Garden" was created by the KRF in the fan zone of the marathon. The specially prepared pavilion was warmly welcomed by the public.
Prominent members of the public, athletes, marathon participants, and other individuals who visited the pavilion were provided with comprehensive information about the Fund's activities and implemented projects. They also had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the "Urbicide in Karabakh" photo exhibition, consisting of photos of our cities, towns, historical and religious monuments distributed by Armenian occupiers in Karabakh, based on materials from the "Karabakh.Center" internet resource created by the Karabakh Revival Fund at the initiative of the First Vice President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mehriban Aliyeva.
At the same time, visitors supported the planting of the "Marathon Garden" in Karabakh by donating trees through a payment terminal and smartphones installed at the stand. Donors were also presented with special "Donation Certificates."
It should be noted that more than 50 members of the Baku Marathon Club participated on behalf of the KRF during the race. The Club's team, together with the staff of the Karabakh Revival Fund, competed under the slogan "Win for Karabakh!"
