Members of the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham Azerbaijan) organized a business meeting dedicated to the restoration and reconstruction of Karabakh, with the participation of Rahman Hajiyev, the Chairman of the Executive Board of the Karabakh Revival Fund.
The event was attended by over 100 members of AmCham and representatives of numerous local and international companies.
During her speech, AmCham President Nargiz Nasrullayeva expressed appreciation for the activities of the Karabakh Revival Fund. She also highlighted their intention to participate as donors in the "From Victory to Revival" forest restoration project implemented by the Fund in collaboration with the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources for the restoration of ecological balance in Karabakh.
Rahman Hajiyev expressed gratitude to the American Chamber of Commerce in Azerbaijan for providing the opportunity to meet with local and international business representatives and for the chance to provide detailed information about the establishment, main goals and objectives, mission, values, current activity directions, transparency measures in the Fund's operations, and the work done in the restoration and reconstruction of Karabakh.
Rahman Hajiyev stated during the presentation about the activity directions of the Fund that, following the historic victory achieved by the victorious Azerbaijani army under the leadership of the Supreme Commander, a new reality has emerged in the region. Additionally, the scale of destruction in Karabakh underscores the importance of support from all members of society for the restoration efforts in the liberated territories.
Chairman Hajiyev emphasized that the funds of the Fund are formed through donations from individuals and legal entities, grants, and other sources not prohibited by law. He also spoke about the promotion of the culture of philanthropy and the promotional activities carried out by the KRF in this direction.
Furthermore, Hajiyev provided information about various projects undertaken by the Fund and the allocated financial resources, drawing the attention of the event participants to these initiatives.
Rahman Hajiyev noted that restoring historical monuments in the liberated territories and addressing ecological balance in Karabakh are among the most prioritized issues for the Fund. He mentioned that the KRF closely collaborates with the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, and other relevant state institutions in this regard.
Rahman Hajiyev explained that the financial support provided by the Fund for restoration and construction projects in the liberated territories is allocated in the form of grants. He emphasized that all grants are implemented in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Grants" and other relevant legislative acts. He noted that to reduce internal risks, several specific mechanisms are outlined in the Rules for Granting Grants approved by the Supervisory Board (including the organization of the Grant Commission, verification of documents by different departments for the credibility of the applicant, stability of financial conditions, scrutiny of corruption, and examination of positive business influence, etc.).
According to Hajiyev, transparency and accountability are ensured in the Fund’s activities through the implementation of all goods and services procurement procedures in accordance with the legislation on public procurement. This, in turn, contributes to increased competitiveness and the creation of favorable business conditions for entrepreneurs.
During the presentation, Rahman Hajiyev introduced the participants to the "Karabakh.Center" internet resource and the "Karabakhmemorial.com" project, both aimed at systematizing and delivering objective information to the wider public about the reasons behind the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict, the consequences of Armenia's aggression, and the peaceful population's tragic losses during the 44-day Patriotic War due to the military atrocities perpetrated by the Armenian armed forces.
As part of the event, a photo exhibition titled "Urbicide in Karabakh", reflecting the destroyed buildings and desecrated historical monuments in Karabakh based on the materials of the "Karabakh.Center" project, was displayed.
It is worth noting that the business breakfasts of AmCham Azerbaijan are held monthly and are attended by high-ranking government officials, members of the Azerbaijani Parliament and representatives of the diplomatic corps.
