

On March 17, 2022, Rahman Hajiyev, the Chairman of the Executive Board of the Karabakh Revival Fund, met with a delegation from the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) visiting our country.
During the meeting, representatives from the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) included Bruno Pozzi, Director of the UNEP Europe Office, Hassan Partow and Celia Halle, UNEP experts; Mahir Aliyev, UNEP Regional Coordinator for Europe and Paula Padrino, another UNEP expert. Additionally, Kamran Seyfullayev, Azerbaijan's Permanent Representative to Geneva, and Rashad Allahverdiyev, Head of the Apparatus of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, along with Emin Kharabakhli, Director of the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, represented Azerbaijan.
Rahman Hajiyev provided detailed information to the participants of the meeting about the creation, main objectives, missions, values and current activity directions of the Karabakh Revival Fund. He emphasized that according to the Fund's Charter and the Activity Plan approved by the Supervisory Board, the main tasks ahead include supporting restoration and reconstruction efforts in the liberated territories, improving socio-economic prosperity and other significant responsibilities related to the revival of Karabakh.
R.Hajiyev emphasized that the support of all members of society for the reconstruction efforts in the liberated territories is directly linked to informing the public about the extent of the damage inflicted on Karabakh. He highlighted the importance of disseminating information to the wider public about the illegal activities carried out by Armenians in these territories and the damage inflicted on Karabakh as a result of the occupation. This dissemination of information is crucial within the framework of the Fund's activities.
Rahman Hajiyev emphasized that the restoration of historical monuments and ecological balance in the liberated territories is one of the most prioritized issues for the Karabakh Revival Fund, noting the close collaboration with relevant government agencies in this regard.
He provided information about several projects, including the joint organization between the Fund and the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, supported by donor companies, aimed at the restoration of the forest massif in Zangilan under the slogan "From Victory to Revival."
During the meeting, Rahman Hajiyev also discussed initiatives related to promoting a culture of philanthropy.
The Director of the Regional Representation of the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) for Europe, Bruno Pozzi, expressed his gratitude for the meeting and the detailed information provided.
Praising the diverse activity directions of the Fund, Bruno Pozzi highlighted significant work in the restoration of ecological balance within various large-scale projects during the activities of the UN Environment Programme. He shared experiences related to ecological restoration and philanthropy promotion, presenting several proposals in this regard.
During the meeting, members of the expert group of the UN Environment Programme expressed various opinions on the topic. Additionally, discussions were held on other mutually interesting issues, exchanging ideas and discussing future cooperation prospects.
At the end of the meeting, Rahman Hajiyev expressed his gratitude to the representative delegation for sharing their experiences and ideas regarding restoration and reconstruction efforts.
