On October 1, a meeting titled “The Role of Solidarity in Karabakh’s Revival” was held with students of Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) as part of youth education initiatives.

Organized by the Karabakh Revival Fund (KRF) under the #KarabakhTalks platform, the event was attended by The Chairman of Executive Board of Karabakh Revival Fund Rahman Hajiyev, Acting Rector of ASOIU Vazeh Askerov, renowned footballer Gara Garayev, ASOIU faculty members, and nearly 300 students.

The meeting began with a moment of silence to honor the memory of martyrs who sacrificed their lives for Azerbaijan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

In his opening speech, Vazeh Askerov provided an overview of the aggressive policies carried out by Armenians against Azerbaijan and discussed the historical victory in the Patriotic War. He emphasized the significant responsibilities of youth and students in the reconstruction of Karabakh, commending their active participation in discussions and events dedicated to this cause.

The Chairman of Executibe Board of Karabakh Revival Fund Rahman Hajiyev gave a presentation detailing the Fund’s activities since its establishment by the Presidential Decree on January 4, 2021. He highlighted the extensive damage inflicted by Armenian occupation on liberated territories and the need for collective solidarity to transform Karabakh into a prosperous region.

“Under the leadership of victorious Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, our brave army liberated our lands, creating new realities in the region. However, the extent of destruction caused by Armenian occupiers, including the erasure of hundreds of settlements and the exploitation of natural resources, underscores the scale of challenges ahead. Restoring Karabakh and turning it into a thriving region requires unity and cooperation, which can also ease the burden on the state,” Hajiyev said.

Famed footballer Gara Garayev expressed his pride in contributing to Karabakh’s revival as an ambassador for the Karabakh Revival Fund. He called on youth to play an active role in the reconstruction efforts and in raising awareness about Karabakh globally.

A video showcasing restoration and reconstruction efforts in liberated territories was presented, followed by a lively Q&A session where participants addressed numerous questions.

This event is part of KRF’s ongoing series of educational meetings with youth and students, previously held at institutions such as Baku Higher Oil School, Baku State University, Azerbaijan University of Languages, Azerbaijan State University of Economics, and Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University. Similar meetings are planned for other educational institutions.
