Chairman of the Executive Board of the Karabakh Revival Fund Rahman Hajiyev delivered a keynote lecture titled “Azerbaijan’s renaissance in a changing world” during a special session with a delegation of young diplomats.
The lecture was held at ADA University within the framework of the “Foreign Policy Program” organized by the Azerbaijan International Development Agency (AIDA), operating under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
In his remarks, Mr. Hajiyev outlined the structural transformation of the international order—the return of interstate conflicts, the weakening of global institutions, and the emergence of a multipolar world defined by strategic uncertainty and technological rivalry.
Against this backdrop, he positioned Azerbaijan as a model of strategic adaptation, not a passive observer of world affairs.
The lecture emphasized that Azerbaijan’s recent achievements—including the liberation of Karabakh from Armenian occupation, fast-paced reconstruction and demining operations, and sustained political and economic stability—are not accidental but the direct result of deliberate, forward-looking state policy under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev.
“Few countries have demonstrated such an ability to maneuver, adapt, and capitalize on change,” Mr. Hajiyev noted, highlighting the role of strong political institutions, national unity, and the country’s ability to pursue an agile and interest-driven foreign policy.
He also described how Azerbaijan’s success story offers valuable insights for small and medium-sized states navigating global transformation.
The event sparked wide interest among attendees, who engaged in a lively discussion on the role of statecraft, regional leadership, and long-term planning in a turbulent international environment.
It is worth noting that the event brought together nearly 30 diplomats representing countries across the Americas, Africa, Europe, and Asia. Serving as a diplomatic bridge between continents, the “Foreign Policy Program” convenes diplomats from around the world to foster dialogue, share experiences, and engage in meaningful discussions on global geopolitical dynamics.
Since its launch in 2018, the program has offered a unique platform for professional exchange and cross-regional understanding.
Mr. Hajiyev participated in the program as a lecturer for the fourth consecutive year.
