Tree-Planting Campaign Held at the Alley of Martyrs in Zangilan on Memorial Day

On the occasion of the fifth anniversary of Memorial Day, a tree-planting campaign was held at the Alley of Martyrs in Zangilan District.

The initiative was organized by the Special Representation of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the districts of Jabrayil, Gubadli, and Zangilan together with the Karabakh Revival Fund (KRF), and supported by Huner Group. The campaign was attended by Vahid Hajiyev, Special Representative of the President in the districts of Jabrayil, Gubadli, and Zangilan; Rahman Hajiyev, Chairman of the Executive Board of the Karabakh Revival Fund; Ehtiram Guliyev, Founder of Huner Group; as well as senior representatives of state institutions operating in the region.

At the outset, participants visited the Alley of Martyrs in Zangilan. The memory of those who gave their lives for Azerbaijan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity was honored with a minute of silence. Flowers were laid at their graves, and prayers were offered for their souls.

In their remarks, Vahid Hajiyev and Rahman Hajiyev emphasized that Memorial Day is not only a day of sorrow and remembrance, but also one of national pride, unity, and triumph of will. Under the leadership of the Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief, President Ilham Aliyev, the Azerbaijani Army not only liberated the occupied lands, but also demonstrated to the world the moral strength and unwavering resolve of the nation.

Following the ceremony, the tree-planting campaign was launched. A total of 390 trees were planted in an area equipped with a modern drip irrigation system, including 140 Leyland cypresses, 100 Khan plane trees, 100 Eldar pines, and 50 Glossy privets.

Restoring ecological balance in the liberated territories is one of the Karabakh Revival Fund’s key priorities. The Fund has already implemented several projects in this direction and continues to initiate new ones.

It should also be noted that the Zangilan Alley of Martyrs, which was destroyed during the Armenian occupation, was fully restored after the liberation of these territories.
