On October 15, 2025, a panel discussion on the topic “Revival of Karabakh in the Context of Modern Communication and Storytelling” was held on the second day of the Rebuild Karabakh 2025 exhibition.

The discussion was jointly organized by the Karabakh Revival Fund and the Media Development Agency. The panel brought together Natiq Mammadov, Deputy Executive Director of the Media Development Agency; Graeme Wilson, British researcher and author (author of the biography of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, H.E. Ilham Aliyev); Shafag Mehraliyeva, member of the Supervisory Board of the Media Development Agency; and Vugar Ibadov, photo correspondent of the Azerbaijan State News Agency.

During the panel discussions, it was emphasized that storytelling has become an essential component of modern communication strategies. It serves not only as a means of conveying information but also as a powerful tool for preserving national memory and transmitting cultural heritage and moral values to future generations. Regardless of format, every story dedicated to the revival of Karabakh reflects the unity, determination, and national pride of our people, while also creating an emotional resonance among wide audiences.

It was noted that modern communication and storytelling practices demonstrate the significant role of visual media, interactive platforms, and digital campaigns in conveying local stories to international audiences. Strengthening empathy and a sense of belonging within the communication process enables people to feel themselves as part of the story.

Looking at similar experiences worldwide, it can be observed that when emotional connection and a sense of belonging are reinforced through creative forms of presentation, public support and engagement increase significantly. The story of Karabakh’s revival likewise holds the potential to attract interest both nationally and globally. The use of visual and digital tools in storytelling allows messages to be perceived more deeply by audiences, enhances emotional impact, and—by creating a sense of presence within the events—serves as a powerful unifying message.

After the presentations, the speakers answered questions addressed by the panel participants.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the speakers were presented with special plaques by the Karabakh Revival Fund, as well as “Victory Day” donation certificates issued in the name of each participant, confirming the donation of a tree dedicated to the glorious Victory of our triumphant army and aimed at contributing to the restoration of ecological balance in Karabakh. In addition, olive saplings symbolizing peace, resilience, and abundance were presented to the speakers.
