The 5th anniversary Azerbaijan International Exhibition on Restoration, Reconstruction, and Development of Karabakh, “Rebuild Karabakh - 2025”, was held at the Baku Expo Center from October 14–16.

The Karabakh Revival Fund (KRF), participating for the fifth consecutive year, successfully showcased its initiatives and achievements. Visitors to the Fund’s stand were provided with detailed information about its activities, projects implemented and financially supported in the liberated territories, and various ongoing initiatives. Video presentations reflecting the Fund’s work were also showcased throughout the event.

In addition, the photo album “Wounded Heritage: Silent Witnesses” — authored by renowned photojournalist Reza Deghati and jointly prepared by the Baku International Multiculturalism Center, the Ministry of Culture, and the Karabakh Revival Fund — was presented to visitors. The album depicts the damage and destruction inflicted upon Azerbaijan’s cultural heritage.

As in previous years, the interactive “Jewels of Karabakh” puzzle game attracted great interest among visitors. Featuring images of Karabakh’s magnificent monuments, the game not only provided entertainment but also symbolized the virtual restoration of cultural heritage and carried an educational message. At the end of the game, the top 30 participants with the highest scores were awarded olive saplings — a symbol of peace and sustainability.

Alongside the main stand, the Fund also set up a special installation in the Baku Expo Center foyer to draw attention to ecological restoration efforts in the liberated territories and to promote tree-planting campaigns. Visitors could view the “From Tragedy to Triumph” photo exhibition reflecting reconstruction efforts in the liberated areas and make donations to receive a special “Victory Donation Certificate” dedicated to Victory Day.

On the exhibition’s opening day, the panel discussion “Revival of Karabakh and Azerbaijan’s New Development Model” was held with the participation of Karabakh Revival Fund Chairman of the Executive Board Rahman Hajiyev; Executive Director of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Vusal Gasimli; Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture, Ilgar Isbatov; General Director of Caspian Event Organisers, Farid Mammadov; CEO of Tabaterra LLC, Elman Javanshir; and Head of Real Estate Development at PMD Group LLC, Kamil Aliyev. The panel addressed new urban planning principles in the liberated territories, the region’s integration into Azerbaijan’s and the global economy, practical examples of public–private partnerships, and key challenges ahead in the next development phase.

On October 15, a second panel discussion titled “Revival of Karabakh Through the Lens of Modern Communication and Storytelling” was organized, focusing on building an intellectual ecosystem in the liberated territories and effectively presenting the themes of Karabakh’s liberation and reconstruction to local and international audiences through compelling and meaningful narratives. The discussion, jointly organized by the Karabakh Revival Fund and the Media Development Agency, featured Deputy Executive Director of the Media Development Agency, Natiq Mammadli; British researcher and author (biographer of the President of Azerbaijan, H.E. Ilham Aliyev), Graeme Wilson; Member of the Supervisory Board of the Media Development Agency, Shafag Mehraliyeva; and AZERTAC photo correspondent, Vugar Ibadov.

It should be noted that “Rebuild Karabakh” is the first and only specialized exhibition dedicated to the restoration of Karabakh. Supported by multiple government institutions and ministries, it serves as an effective platform for strengthening public–private partnerships.

The exhibition aims to highlight the positive transformation, reconstruction, and rehabilitation efforts in Karabakh since its liberation, while encouraging private sector participation and investment in the region’s development and infrastructure renewal.
