General Information:
The Karabakh Revival Fund (KRF) has launched the “Colors of Karabakh” project to unite the public around the vital mission of restoring and rebuilding the liberated territories. The project aims to contribute to the restoration and reconstruction efforts while promoting the beauty of this land and the rich cultural heritage of the Azerbaijani people.
As part of the project initiated and organized by the Karabakh Revival Fund and with the organizational support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijan State Academy of Fine Arts, 23 talented young students from the Academy created 23 artworks – 19 paintings and 4 sculptures. These pieces reflect the captivating and vibrant nature of Karabakh, the silent stories of its historical monuments, the pulse of its cultural heritage, and the resilient spirit of our people.
The art pieces, rich in meaning and created by young artists, were selected by a jury of distinguished figures in Azerbaijani fine arts. The jury included the President of the Union of Artists of Azerbaijan, People's Artist Farhad Khalilov, Rector of the Azerbaijan State Academy of Fine Arts, People's Artist Natig Aliyev, and Prorector of the Academy, People's Artist Salhab Mammadov, based on sketches submitted by more than 250 students of the Academy.
Later, the visual art samples were put up for sale on the official website of the project www.colorsofkarabakh.com.
A total revenue of 90,200 AZN was generated from the sale of 21 artworks. Two pieces were added to the Karabakh Revival Fund's collection.
All expenses related to creativity (including canvases, paints, materials, frames, etc.) and one-time scholarships for students were covered with the support of the Karabakh Revival Fund.
Inspired by deep love for Karabakh and reflecting the unbreakable spirit of the region, the artworks were presented at a special gala event held on May 20, 2024.
The event was attended by government officials, members of parliament, prominent cultural and public figures, donors of the Fund, as well as the artists behind the project and media representatives.
During the event, a short film dedicated to the project was screened.
The artworks, along with their “Authenticity” certificates, were presented to their new owners who acquired them through donations to the Fund.
It should be noted that the artworks created within the “Colors of Karabakh” project will soon be showcased to the public at a special exhibition in one of Baku’s most renowned galleries.
Detailed information about the project and the artworks can be found on the project's official website, in the dedicated catalouge, and the price list.
Note: All proceeds from the sale of artworks will be directed towards the restoration of the Imaret complex of Panahali Khan, located in the territory of Aghdam district, which is currently being restored with the financial support of the Karabakh Revival Fund.
