Meeting Held to Discuss the Development of Education in Karabakh

The Education Development Fund (EDF), the Karabakh Revival Fund (KRF), and Veyseloglu Group of Companies held a meeting to discuss the development of education in Karabakh.

The meeting was attended by Nijat Mammadli, Chairman of the Board of EDF; Rahman Hajiyev, Chairman of the Executive Board of KRF; Shahin Bayramov, Rector of Karabakh University; Aydin Veyseloglu, Founder and CEO of Veyseloglu Group of Companies; and representatives of the parties.

Discussions focused on joint steps to establish modern education infrastructure in the territories liberated from occupation, support the strategic development of Karabakh University, and strengthen the region’s human resources capacity. The participants emphasized the importance of a tripartite partnership model involving the state, private sector, and academic institutions. They also exchanged views on establishing dedicated scholarship programs for the University’s students, creating internship opportunities, and implementing joint social programs.

In his remarks, Nijat Mammadli, Chairman of the Board of EDF, highlighted the important role of education in Karabakh’s sustainable development. He noted that cooperation among the state, private sector, and civil society institutions makes an important contribution to expanding educational opportunities and developing human capital in the region.

Rahman Hajiyev, Chairman of the Executive Board of KRF, noted that education plays a central role in ensuring sustainable settlement in the liberated territories. He stated that developing human capital in the region and expanding educational opportunities for young people support the area’s comprehensive restoration, making support for related projects particularly important.

Shahin Bayramov, Rector of Karabakh University, thanked the partner organizations for supporting this important initiative to advance education. He noted that this support is especially important for expanding the University’s academic opportunities and fostering students’ professional development. The Rector emphasized that such strategic measures contribute to the sustainable development of education in Karabakh, the region’s comprehensive revival, and its future progress.

Aydin Veyseloglu, Founder and CEO of Veyseloglu Group of Companies, stated that supporting education is one of the Group’s strategic priorities. He emphasized that the development of quality education strengthens the country’s human capital while also helping companies build and develop a skilled workforce.

The meeting continued with discussions on expanding support mechanisms for Karabakh University, scaling up joint initiatives, and defining specific areas of action for the next stage.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Education Development Fund and Veyseloglu Group of Companies signed a partnership agreement to support Karabakh University.

Support to be provided under the agreement will contribute to the development of Karabakh University, create better opportunities for students, and strengthen the University’s educational capacity.

As a reminder, on June 2, 2025, the Karabakh Revival Fund and the Education Development Fund signed a Memorandum of Understanding at the Karabakh Education and Partnership Forum in Khankendi. Under the agreement, 50 students enrolled at Karabakh University are receiving scholarship support for the 2025–2026 academic year through the Karabakh Scholarship Program.
