During the years of occupation, the valuable natural forests of Karabakh — rich in precious tree and shrub species and constituting 42% of Azerbaijan’s flora — were deliberately destroyed by the Armenian occupiers, resulting in a decline in biodiversity in the area.

Within the framework of the restoration and reconstruction works carried out in the territories liberated from occupation under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr Ilham Aliyev, landscaping activities continue with a view to eliminating the consequences of ecological terror.

Landscaping works are also being implemented in the Jabrayil district. In particular, the establishment of a park in the centre of Horovlu village is envisaged to ensure meaningful leisure opportunities for residents who will be resettled in the village. Accordingly, with the financial support of the Karabakh Revival Fund, a landscaping project was implemented in the park area on 26 November 2025.

As part of the project, and with the financial support of the Karabakh Revival Fund, a total of 1,170 trees were planted in the village park area, including 70 oleanders, 50 olive trees, 450 Oriental plane trees, 100 Japanese medlars, 50 plum trees, 200 Eldar pines, and 250 pyramidal cypresses.

The amount of the grant allocated for the implementation of these services totals 67,363.50 AZN (sixty-seven thousand three hundred sixty-three manats and fifty qapiks).
