Restoration of Ecological Balance
Global climate change affects all countries without exception.
In this context, it is worth mentioning the strategic document "Azerbaijan 2030: National Priorities for Socio-Economic Development", signed by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, H.E. Ilham Aliyev, on February 2, 2020.
According to this strategy, one of the five national priorities for the next decade is to transform Azerbaijan into a country committed to a clean environment and green development.
As a result of the Armenian occupation, the ecology of Karabakh (forest cover, biodiversity, water resources, etc.) has suffered catastrophic damage. Numerous reports from official Azerbaijani institutions and international organizations, and satellite images published by "Azercosmos" company, confirm this.
Recognizing the importance and scale of this problem, the Karabakh Revival Fund plans to support projects to restore Karabakh's ecology. In this context, it is essential to support projects in the following areas:
Recognizing the importance and scale of this issue, the Karabakh Revival Foundation will actively support projects in the following areas to restore ecological balance in the liberated territories:"
- Expanding forest cover and restoring biodiversity in Karabakh
- Considering economic growth, restoring existing resources by revitalizing unused land to ensure ecological balance
- Efficient use of water and other resources,
- Green energy projects, etc.
The Fund will carry out its activities in accordance with best practices in ecology, the relevant legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and international standards, while also applying appropriate environmental standards not only to itself but also to its contractors
Additionally, the Fund will continuously monitor environmental impact across the entire value chain and work to minimize it by sharing relevant information, resources, and tools with its employees and partners.
