On April 12, 2022, The Trade Union of Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations donated 5500 trees in memory of the martyrs of the Second Karabakh War to contribute to the restoration of the environment and ecological balance in the liberated areas, within the framework of the forest restoration project in Zangilan.

The event, organized jointly by the Karabakh Revival Fund and the The Trade Union of Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, was attended by the mothers of martyrs and family members of those who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of our lands.

During the tree planting action, a moment of silence was observed to honor the cherished memories of the soldiers and officers who laid down their lives for the liberation of our lands.

Subsequently, the tree planting process commenced, with 300 tree seedlings being planted with the participation of martyr families, representatives of the Karabakh Revival Fund, and the The Trade Union of Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

Following the tree planting, the participants visited the Martyrs Alley in Zangilan, where flower arrangements were placed on the graves of the martyrs of the First Karabakh War.

It is noteworthy that all activities carried out within the framework of the project for the establishment of a sustainable forest cover in the area are conducted in accordance with forestry requirements. Special attention is paid to the installation of energy supply and irrigation systems, as well as regular monitoring of the cultivated areas to ensure continuous care.

Recall that an Agreement Memorandum on cooperation between the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources and the Karabakh Revival Fund was signed for the elimination of environmental damage and restoration works in the liberated territories. As part of this Memorandum, the forest restoration project in Zangilan was initiated, with over 45,000 trees donated by donor companies to date.

It should be noted that the planting primarily focuses on trees suitable for the local climate conditions, including Eldar pine, Evergreen oak, Goyrush, Qledichiya, and Eastern plane trees.

The tree planting process is ongoing and will continue in other liberated areas as well.

Together, we will restore a greener Karabakh!
