The staff of the Karabakh Revival Fund participated in a tree-planting campaign organized in honor of the 100th anniversary of the great leader Heydar Aliyev by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources.
The event took place in the village of Mushfigabad, and it was attended by the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources, Mukhtar Babayev, and Rahman Hajiyev, the Chairman of Executive Board of the Karabakh Revival Fund.
The campaign’s purpose was to commemorate the cherished memory of the great leader Heydar Aliyev and to continue his legacy of caring for nature and greenery. During the campaign, the Fund planted Eldar pines and olive trees suitable for the soil and climate conditions of the Absheron Peninsula on a 2-hectare area.
It's noteworthy that restoring ecological balance in the liberated territories is one of the priority directions of the KRF's activities.
As per the Memorandum of Agreement signed between the Karabakh Revival Fund and the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, 30,000 trees, primarily Eldar pines, Evergreen oak, Ash, Honey-locust, and Oriental plane trees, were planted on a 30-hectare area at the entrance of Zangilan city.
Currently, based on the KRF's initiative and financial support, the establishment of a Central Park on a 22.47-hectare area by the new Master Plan of Fuzuli city is planned, considering the demand for mass recreation of the population settling there. This initiative will be a significant contribution restoring ecological balance in the area.
