The Turkish Business Forum, dedicated to the restoration and development of the liberated territories, was held in Shusha.
The event was organized jointly by the Turkic Council, the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey, with the support of the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan, the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA), and the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations. In addition to Azerbaijan, representatives from four permanent members of the Turkic Council (Turkey, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan), and observer member Hungary's state institutions, as well as various organizations and members of the diplomatic corps, participated in the forum.
The purpose of the forum was to deepen economic, business, and investment relations among Turkic states, promote dialogue among entrepreneurs, and present the economic and capital potential of the Karabakh region to foreign businessmen.
Rahman Hajiyev, the Chairman of the Executive Board of the Karabakh Revival Fund, made a presentation at the event, providing detailed information to the participants about the establishment of the Fund, its main goals and objectives, mission, and priorities.
The Chairman emphasized the Fund's emphasis on combating corruption and transparency in its activities, stating that in addition to the accountability mandated by law, the Fund also feels responsible to the public.
The regular dissemination of information such as events, project implementation status, audit results, as well as posting reports in open format on the Fund's official website, demonstrates this transparency and accountability. Rahman Hajiyev spoke about the main tasks ahead and the new realities following the historic victory of the successful Azerbaijani army under the leadership of the Supreme Commander.
Rahman Hajiyev mentioned that the scale of destruction in the liberated territories exceeded expectations, providing detailed information about the material damage, architectural treasures, historical monuments, and ecological harm caused by Armenian terror. Discussing large-scale projects implemented in the liberated territories, the Chairman of the Execuitve Board highlighted President Ilham Aliyev's policy of developing the country's market economy, increasing transparency in state institutions, and combating corruption. According to the Chairman, transparency and competitiveness principles are of particular importance in projects implemented using state funds (including with the financial support of the KRF).
Therefore, the selection of contractors for all implemented projects is carried out in accordance with the relevant legislation on public procurement. At the same time, various transparent incentive mechanisms are created for the unhindered activities of local and foreign investors in these areas.
Rahman Hajiyev emphasized the importance of disseminating information to the wider public about the destruction caused by Armenians in our liberated territories, as well as their illegal actions and the damage inflicted on Karabakh as a result of the occupation: "In fact, the support of all members of society for the work carried out in the direction of the restoration of the liberated territories is directly dependent on informing them about the scale of the damage inflicted on Karabakh and the measures taken for its revival."
Expressing regret that the double standards applied by some international organizations against our country continue today, Rahman Hajiyev stated that Azerbaijan, with the close support of friendly and partner countries, is carrying out restoration and reconstruction work in the liberated territories with its own resources.
The Chairman of the Executive Board emphasized the importance of combining the efforts of the state, business, and society in the restoration and reconstruction of the liberated territories, ensuring solidarity among all members of society, and also spoke about global experience in this field.
Rahman Hajiyev informed the forum participants about the events held and projects planned for the current year, the strategic directions of the Fund's activities for 2022-2025, as well as opportunities for attracting donations and donation mechanisms.
It is worth noting that within the framework of the Forum, special sessions on bilateral meetings, "Investment Opportunities in the Karabakh and Eastern Zangazur Economic Region," were held, and several documents were signed.
