1st International Scientific-Practical Conference on "Building a New Economy in Karabakh: Development impulses from Aghdam"
The International Scientific-Practical Conference on "New Economic Development in Karabakh: Development Impulses from Agdam" has begun
The first day of the International Scientific-Practical Conference on "New Economic Development in Karabakh: Development Impulses from Agdam," organized by the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for Agdam District, the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Karabakh Revival Fund, and the Institute of Economics of the National Academy of Sciences (AMEA), has concluded in Agdam on September 16, 2021.
Prior to the conference, the participants visited the monument complex of Karabakh khans and the Imaret cemetery, the Bread Museum, the Agdam State Drama Theater, the Juma Mosque, and the Central Square in Agdam.
The participants of the event planted trees together on the land of Agdam.
The conference was opened by Emin Huseynov, the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the liberated part of Agdam region. During the conference, a message from the First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva, on "New Economic Development in Karabakh: Development Impulses from Agdam" was read out to the participants.
Later, speeches were delivered by Sahib Alekberov, Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan; Rahman Hajiyev, Chairman of the Executive Board of the Karabakh Revival Fund; and Nazim Muzaffarli, Director of the Institute of Economics of AMEA, Doctor of Economics, Professor.
In the plenary session, Adalat Muradov, Rector of Azerbaijan State University of Economics, Doctor of Economics, Professor, spoke on "Innovative and Digital Economy of Karabakh: Conceptual Approach," and Jeyhun Salmanov, Deputy Chairman of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, spoke on "Development Potential and Prospects of Innovative Economic Sectors in Karabakh."
The conference also discussed issues such as "Restoration of Post-Conflict Areas," "Economic Potential, Priorities, and Expectations of Agdam," "Natural Resources and Green Energy Potential of Agdam and Karabakh as a Whole," "Balance between Traditional and Non-Traditional Sectors of the Economy in Karabakh," and "Return of Internally Displaced Persons to Agdam and Other Regions of Karabakh."
Later, a question-and-answer session was held with the participation of local and foreign guests.
Finally, a commemorative photo was taken.
