A photo exhibition was held based on the "Karabakh.Center" project

On July 27, 2021, the Karabakh Revival Fund organized an exhibition consisting of photographs from the "Karabakh.Center" project, focusing on the material and cultural heritage of our people in Karabakh, as well as the damage caused to the biodiversity and natural resources of this region as a result of the long-standing Armenian occupation.

It should be noted that the "Karabakh.Center" project, which was presented to the public some time ago, was created by the Karabakh Revival Fund at the initiative of the First Vice President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva, with the aim of systematizing objective information about the reasons for the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict and the consequences of Armenia's aggression, and delivering it to the wider public.

The "Karabakh.Center" website offers a wide range of materials based on specific examples, allowing people to familiarize themselves with the scale of damage to the material and cultural heritage of the Azerbaijani people in Karabakh, as well as to the biodiversity and natural resources of this region.

This project includes more than 10,000 photographs and videos of destroyed and severely damaged objects in the occupied territories. All the photos and videos are located in the "Urbicide" section of the website. In this section, it is also possible to view hundreds of photographs of architectural monuments taken before the occupation.

At the event, along with Fatma Yildirim, a member of the Supervisory Board of the KRF and a deputy of the National Assembly of the Republic of Azerbaijan, many well-known public figures and representatives of the media participated, who played a role in shaping public opinion in the country and in bringing the Karabakh issue to a wider audience during the 44-day war.

The opening speech of the event was delivered by Rahman Hajiyev, the Chairman of the Executive Board of the Karabakh Revival Fund. Rahman Hajiyev began his remarks by providing information about the establishment, purpose, and objectives of the Karabakh Revival Fund, as well as its current activities. He then provided extensive information about the "Karabakh.Center" project initiated by the First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mehriban Aliyeva. He expressed his gratitude to Mehriban Aliyeva for her initiative in creating this internet resource, which serves to disseminate the truths about Karabakh to the wider public. He also expressed gratitude to the members of the Supervisory Board for their support.

"We are now citizens of a victorious country. Each of us must support the efforts to revive Karabakh, and we must unite our efforts around this important task", said the head of the KRF, expressing his deep gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev for considering him worthy of this honorable and responsible position. He emphasized his commitment to living up to this trust to the best of his abilities.

Rahman Hajiyev underscored the importance of the photo exhibition depicting the damage inflicted on our people's material and cultural heritage, the biodiversity of the region, and its natural resources as a result of the Armenian occupation. He stated that such events would be held continuously to raise awareness about the issue.

He also expressed gratitude to the Azerbaijan State News Agency (AZERTAG) and the "Azerbaijan Television and Radio Broadcasting" CJSC (AZTV) for providing access to a large database of photos and videos taken in the liberated territories.

During her speech, Fatma Yildirim, a member of the Supervisory Board of the Karabakh Revival Fund and a deputy of the National Assembly, highlighted the importance of initiatives like the "Karabakh.Center" portal and similar events in disseminating the truths about Karabakh to a wider audience. She pointed out how these platforms shed light on the facts that contradict the Armenian narrative, such as the complete destruction of infrastructure, social, economic, cultural objects, as well as historical and religious monuments in Azerbaijani territories by Armenians.

Fatma Yildirim invited everyone to actively participate in the restoration and reconstruction efforts led by the Azerbaijani state and to support these efforts in one way or another. She emphasized that the post-conflict recovery period, following the Armenian occupation, requires significant financial resources and the mobilization of resources. Yildirim highlighted the importance of collaboration between the public and private sectors and the contributions of citizens to the revival of Karabakh, stressing that unity in this important mission could bring significant results.

Aybaniz Ismayilova, the head of the Fund's Fundraising and Communication Department, spoke about the richness of monuments in the Karabakh region, which is considered the cradle of our culture. She emphasized that the occupation by Armenia resulted in the destruction of all museums, mosques and monuments in the region, highlighting that our people not only lost their lands but also experienced a significant sociological collapse over the past thirty years. This collapse led to the loss of daily, traditional lifestyles for nearly a million people. Ismayılova underlined that despite the challenges, as representatives of the victorious country today, we have the power to rebuild everything in a better form. She called on every Azerbaijani to be mobilized to remember the past and build a brighter future.

Parvin Mammadova, the PR and Communication Coordinator of the Karabakh Revival Fund, informed about the newly added "Donate" feature on platforms to facilitate the donation process and allow individuals who want to contribute to the restoration and construction process to easily make payments. She mentioned that efforts are underway to add this function to all possible platforms, and the public will be continuously informed about innovations. Mammadova emphasized that the Karabakh Revival Fund, established by the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, serves as a unified and efficient platform for consolidating efforts in this regard.

During the event, in addition to the photo exhibition, a documentary film titled "Urbicide in Karabakh", reflecting the destroyed buildings and displaced historical monuments, as well as a presentation video of the website, were also presented.
