Karabakh Revival Fund held a presentation ceremony for the "Karabakh.Center" project and the accompanying photo exhibition on June 30, 2021, aiming to bring the world's attention to the material and cultural heritage of our people in Karabakh, as well as the biodiversity and natural wealth of the region, which have suffered due to the long-standing Armenian occupation.
The "Karabakh.Center" project, initiated by the First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva, and implemented by the Karabakh Revival Fund, aims to systematize and deliver objective information to the global public about the causes of the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict and the consequences of Armenia's aggression.
The project provides an opportunity for people to familiarize themselves with the extent of the damage inflicted on the material and cultural heritage of Azerbaijan's people in Karabakh, as well as the biodiversity and natural resources of the region, through numerous materials based on concrete examples.
It features over 10,000 photos and videos depicting the destruction and serious damage to various objects in the occupied territories, all of which are available in the "Urbisid" section of the website. The section also allows viewers to see hundreds of pre-occupation photographs of architectural monuments.
Exclusive analytical materials and historical documents prepared by professional researchers and journalists on the causes and consequences of the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict are available in the "Conflict" and "Crime" sections of the website.
During the presentation event, various dignitaries, including the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mikayil Jabbarov, and members of the Supervisory Board of the Karabakh Revival Fund, were present. They highlighted the significance of the "Karabakh.Center" project in conveying the truths about Karabakh to the wider public.
Rahman Hajıyev, the Chairman of the Executive Board of the Karabakh Revival Fund, expressed his deep gratitude to Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva for her initiative in creating this internet resource, as well as to the esteemed members of the Supervisory Board for their support.
He also thanked the Azerbaijan State News Agency (AZERTAC) and the Azerbaijan Television and Radio Broadcasting CJSC (AZTV) for their contribution to the extensive database of photos and videos depicting the liberated territories' landscapes, emphasizing that the website will continue to be updated with new materials and analytical articles dedicated to the revival and reconstruction process of Karabakh.
During the event, the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources, Mukhtar Babayev, emphasized the crucial role of modern information technologies in delivering comprehensive information to the global community about the consequences of the occupation and the ongoing restoration efforts in Karabakh.
Fatma Yıldırım, a member of the Azerbaijani Parliament and the Supervisory Board of the Karabakh Revival Fund, highlighted the significance of the "Karabakh.Center" portal in exposing Armenia's destruction of infrastructure, social, economic, and cultural objects, as well as historical and religious monuments in Azerbaijani territories occupied for nearly 30 years.
She called on entrepreneurs to actively participate in the reconstruction efforts, emphasizing that the post-conflict recovery is a long-term process that requires significant financial resources and cooperation between the public and private sectors.
The event concluded with Rahman Hacıyev thanking the attendees and inviting them to view the photo exhibition depicting the destruction caused by Armenian vandals in Karabakh.
