“Night of Karabakh – Lachin” Charity Concert (2026)

Concert Overview:

On September 23, 2026, the “Night of Karabakh – Lachin” charity concert, featuring classical music works, was held in Lachin city at the initiative and organization of the Karabakh Revival Fund, with the organizational support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Lachin district.

The concert, held as part of the 18th Uzeyir Hajibeyli International Music Festival, was attended by government officials, the Fund’s donors and partners, cultural and artistic figures, media representatives, and residents of the Lachin district.

The event, organized as part of the 6th anniversary of Remembrance Day, opened with a minute of silence in honor of the memory of the martyrs who gave their lives for Azerbaijan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Speaking at the event, Masim Mammadov, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Lachin district, spoke about the ongoing reconstruction and development process in the Lachin district, particularly the work being carried out to develop Lachin and revitalize the city’s cultural life.

Expressing his gratitude to all those involved in organizing the “Night of Karabakh – Lachin” charity concert, Masim Mammadov emphasized the importance of such events in showcasing Lachin’s cultural potential and expanding the organization of cultural events in the city.

Rahman Hajiyev, Chairman of the Executive Board of the Karabakh Revival Fund, delivered a speech on the purpose and significance of the “Night of Karabakh – Lachin” charity concert. According to him, alongside reconstruction efforts in the liberated territories under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, H.E. Ilham Aliyev, the development of cultural life and preservation of historical and cultural heritage are also among the important areas of Garabagh’s revival process.

Rahman Hajiyev noted that, as part of the “Night of Karabakh – Lachin” charity concert, the Fund and its donors and partners presented the city of Lachin with a grand concert piano manufactured by “Yamaha.” He said that the initiative would contribute to enriching the city’s cultural life and preserving its musical traditions.

Expressing his gratitude to all partners who have supported the organization and implementation of the “Night of Karabakh” charity concerts, held five times to date, Rahman Hajiyev emphasized the particular importance of their support for this initiative.

Later, People's Artist, Rector of the Baku Music Academy, and member of the Supervisory Board of the Karabakh Revival Fund Farhad Badalbeyli delivered a speech, sharing his views on the “Night of Karabakh – Lachin” charity concert and particularly highlighting its contribution to the restoration of cultural heritage in the liberated territories.

Following the speeches, the event continued with an artistic program featuring performances of works from Azerbaijani and world music by renowned musicians. Conducted by Mustafa Mehmandarov, the concert featured People's Artists Farhad Badalbeyli and Yegana Akhundova, Honored Artist Emil Afrasiyab (piano), Nazrin Aslanli (violin), and soloists Mahir Tagizade and Aysun Mahmudzade, who presented the audience with memorable musical performances.

It should be recalled that earlier, with donations raised through the “Night of Karabakh” charity concert, the Karabakh Revival Fund presented the city of Shusha, the cultural capital of Azerbaijan, with a grand concert piano manufactured by “Yamaha.”
