“Night of Karabakh – Shusha” Charity Concert (2026)

Concert Overview:

On September 24, 2026, the “Night of Karabakh – Shusha” charity concert, featuring classical music works, was held in Shusha city at the initiative and organization of the Karabakh Revival Fund, with the organizational support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Shusha City State Reserve Administration.

The concert, held as part of the 18th Uzeyir Hajibeyli International Music Festival, was attended by government officials, the Fund’s donors and partners, cultural and artistic figures, media representatives, and residents of Shusha city.

The event, organized as part of the 6th anniversary of Remembrance Day, opened with a minute of silence in honor of the memory of the martyrs who gave their lives for Azerbaijan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Speaking at the event, Tural Novruzov, Executive Director of the Shusha City State Reserve Administration, first expressed his gratitude to the Karabakh Revival Fund and partner organizations involved in organizing the “Night of Karabakh – Shusha” charity concert. He highly valued the organization of such a musical event in Shusha and emphasized the significance of the concert in enriching the city’s cultural life and preserving Shusha’s musical traditions.

Tural Novruzov noted that Shusha holds a special place in the cultural and musical history of Azerbaijan and said that holding such events in the city makes an important contribution to preserving its cultural heritage and passing it on to future generations. He particularly noted that holding the “Night of Karabakh” project in Shusha once again was one of the initiatives contributing to the city’s cultural life.

Speaking at the event, Rahman Hajiyev, Chairman of the Executive Board of the Karabakh Revival Fund, spoke about the purpose and significance of the “Night of Karabakh” charity concert. According to him, alongside the reconstruction and development efforts carried out in the liberated territories under the leadership of H.E. Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the revitalization of cultural life, preservation of historical and cultural heritage, and preservation of Garabagh’s rich musical traditions are also of particular importance.

Rahman Hajiyev noted that holding the “Night of Karabakh” charity concert in Shusha has already become a tradition. Recalling that a grand concert piano manufactured by “Yamaha” was presented to the city of Shusha during the concert first held there in 2024, the Chairman of the Executive Board emphasized that the musical instrument has created new opportunities for concerts and other cultural events held in Shusha, contributing to the city’s cultural life.

Rahman Hajiyev said that the support provided by the Fund’s donors and partners for the organization and implementation of the “Night of Karabakh” charity concerts, held six times to date, is of particular importance and described this support as an expression of unity and solidarity in support of the revival of Garabagh.

People’s Artist, Rector of the Baku Music Academy, and member of the Supervisory Board of the Karabakh Revival Fund Farhad Badalbeyli also delivered a speech, speaking about the significance of the “Night of Karabakh” project and noting Shusha’s special place in the musical and cultural history of Azerbaijan.

Following the speeches, the event continued with an artistic program featuring works from Azerbaijani and world music performed by renowned musicians. Conducted by Mustafa Mehmandarov, the concert featured People’s Artists Farhad Badalbeyli (piano) and Yegana Akhundova (piano), Honored Artist Emil Afrasiyab (piano), and soloists Nazrin Aslanli (violin), Mahir Tagizade, Aysun Mahmudzade, and Sabina Asadova, who presented the audience with memorable musical moments.

It should be recalled that on September 23, as part of the 6th anniversary of Remembrance Day, the Karabakh Revival Fund also presented the city of Lachin with a grand concert piano manufactured by “Yamaha” during the “Night of Karabakh – Lachin” charity concert held in Lachin.
