It should be noted that on the night from February 25 to February 26, 1992, with the help of the 366th Motorized Rifle Regiment of the USSR, Armenian armed forces committed an unprecedented genocide against the Azerbaijani population in Khojaly.
As a result of the Khojaly genocide, which is a tragedy of the century, 613 residents of Khojaly, including 63 children, 106 women, and 70 elderly people, were brutally murdered, eight families were completely exterminated, and 25 children lost both parents, while 130 children lost one of their parents. Four hundred eighty-seven (487) people were injured, including 76 children, and 1,275 people were taken hostage. The fate of 150 captives, including 68 women and 26 children, is still unknown.
Today, our nation visits the memory of the victims of the Khojaly genocide as a victorious country, and victorious people. Like all our martyrs, the victims of the Khojaly genocide have also been avenged.
