On December 16, a meeting was held with the students of Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL) on the topic of 'The Role of Solidarity in the Revival of KarabakhThe meeting, initiated by the Karabakh Revival Fund, was attended by the Chairman of the Executive Board of the Fund Rahman Hajiyev, the Rector of Azerbaijan University of Languages Kamal Abdulla, Member of the National Assembly Nigar Arpadarai, as well as the professorial staff and more than 300 students of AUL.
During the event, the Rector of Azerbaijan University of Languages Kamal Abdulla, stated that during the occupation, Armenians caused significant damage to our territories, leaving our cities and villages in ruins. Therefore, the process of restoring Karabakh has been identified by President Ilham Aliyev as one of the most important and prioritized tasks.
Emphasizing that the restoration of Karabakh is a national issue, the rector stressed that every patriot should participate in this endeavor.
Subsequently, a video presentation titled "Urbicide in Karabakh" was shown, prepared based on materials from the "Karabakh.Center" internet resource, an idea conceived by the First Vice President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva.
During his presentation, Rahman Hajiyev, the Chairman of the Executive Board of the Karabakh Revival Fund, provided detailed information about the Fund, which was established by the decree of President Ilham Aliyev dated January 4, 2021. He outlined the main directions of the Fund's activities, discussed the work already accomplished, and presented the projects planned.
Highlighting the extensive damage caused by the occupation, Rahman Hajiyev pointed out that Armenians caused serious harm to Karabakh's ecology and engaged in illegal economic activities, ruthlessly exploiting our natural resources during the occupation period.
He emphasized the importance of solidarity in quickly overcoming the consequences of the damage and transforming Karabakh into a region of high prosperity. He also provided detailed information about the projects implemented with the support of the Fund in the liberated territories.
Rahman Hajiyev emphasized the significance of conducting regular meetings with students and young people, stating, "Today's students are tomorrow's professionals, entrepreneurs, and investors. They will actively participate in the socio-economic life of the country and contribute their talents to the restoration of liberated territories. Even though the war may be over, the information war continues. In delivering the truths about Karabakh to the global community, young people and students can play a significant role, not only in our native language but also in various languages. Therefore, it is crucial for us as a Fund to engage in continuous dialogue with students and young people, to understand their thoughts and suggestions."
Nigar Arpadarai, a Member of the National Assembly, emphasized the significance of the Karabakh issue for every Azerbaijani, stating, "The Karabakh issue is a national and extremely important matter for every Azerbaijani. Even though we emerged victorious in the war, the information war continues. The Armenian diaspora is still actively working against us. Therefore, we must not slacken and must be more active in the information war. Especially young people and students can contribute significantly to this effort."
At the end of the event, Kamal Abdulla, the Rector of Azerbaijan University of Languages, proposed the creation of a group consisting of university students to collaborate with the Karabakh Revival Fund, a suggestion positively received by the participants of the event.
Following the speeches, the meeting continued with discussions and a question-and-answer session, where participants addressed various questions posed by students.
It is worth noting that the Karabakh Revival Fund has previously organized informative meetings with youth and students at Baku Engineering University and Baku State University. Similar meetings are planned to be held in other educational institutions as well.
