On September 22, 2024, the Karabakh Revival Fund (KRF) organized a charity concert titled “Night of Karabakh - Shusha” in the city of Shusha, known as the cradle of Azerbaijani music. The event was held with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Shusha City State Reserve Department, as part of the Uzeyir Hajibeyli 16th International Music Festival.
The concert was dedicated to presenting a grand concert grand piano, made by “YAMAHA,” as a gift to Shusha. The event was attended by government officials, donors and partners of Karabakh Revival Fund, prominent cultural and artistic figures, and residents of Shusha.
Rahman Hajıyev, Chairman of the Executive Board of Karabakh Revival Fund, explained the primary goal of the concert: supporting the restoration efforts in the liberated territories, particularly Shusha, following Azerbaijan’s victory in the Patriotic War. He emphasized that the concert was part of a series of charity events aimed at contributing to the revival of Karabakh. Funds raised from previous concerts in Baku and Ganja made it possible for the piano to be purchased and gifted to Shusha, fulfilling a recommendation from First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva.
Famous Azerbaijani artist, rector of the Baku Music Academy, and Board member of Karabakh Revival Fund Farhad Badalbeyli highlighted the significance of the concert in restoring the cultural heritage of the liberated territories.
The concert featured performances by Farhad Badalbeyli, world-renowned tenor Yusif Eyvazov, and other talented soloists such as Yegane Akhundova (piano), Gulnaz İsmayılova (soprano), Mahir Taghızade (baritone), and violinists Nezrin Aslanlı and Gemer Kerimli. Under the baton of the Honored Artist Fuad İbrahimov, the Baku Chamber Orchestra delivered an unforgettable musical experience.
Yusif Eyvazov performed both Azerbaijani classical music and Italian classics, including Neapolitan songs, while Farhad Badalbeyli’s compositions, such as “Sea” and “Ave Maria,” were met with great enthusiasm from the audience.
Following the concert, Shusha resident, Doctor of Philology Ilham Jafarsoylu expressed his deep gratitude to the organizers for their contributions to the restoration of Shusha and the surrounding areas.
