On October 30, the Karabakh Revival Fund (KRF), on its initiative and organization, hosted a business meeting between its donors, partners, and the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA).

The event aimed to support ANAMA’s demining efforts in the liberated territories, a critical task for accelerating the implementation of the Great Return plan. Attendees included government officials, Members of Parliament, donors and partners  of Karabakh Revival Fund, and media representatives.

During the meeting, Chairman of ANAMA Vugar Suleymanov provided extensive information about the demining operations being conducted in the liberated territories. As part of the event, three mine detection dogs—Romi, Shimshek, and Scooby—procured by Azerlotereya OPJSC, were formally handed over to ANAMA with KRF’s facilitation.

The Chairman of Executive Board of Karabakh Revival Fund Rahman Hajiyev highlighted the severe obstacles posed by mines left behind in the liberated territories, stating that they hinder reconstruction and rehabilitation efforts:

“As we know, following the magnificent Victory achieved under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, the organization of reconstruction and revival in the liberated territories has become a significant mission for the Azerbaijani public and state institutions. However, mines planted by the Armenian occupiers create major obstacles to reconstruction and hinder the return of internally displaced persons to their homes after 30 years of exile.

Hajiyev emphasized the importance of mobilizing resources and demonstrating solidarity across society to address the challenges posed by mines. He also expressed gratitude to donors and partners for their support, stating:

“I am confident that with the joint steps we will take, Karabakh will soon become one of the most beautiful places in the world.”

The Chairman of Executive Board of Azərlotereya OJSC, Osman Karakuş, expressed his satisfaction in contributing to both the demining operations and the overall reconstruction efforts in the liberated territories:

“The mine detection dogs donated to ANAMA will significantly contribute not only to the clearance of mines and unexploded ordnance but also to the acceleration of reconstruction activities in these territories.”

Recognitions and Contributions

Following the remarks, the three mine detection dogs—Romi, Shimshək, and Scooby—were officially handed over to ANAMA, along with certificates presented by QDF Chairman Rahman Hajiyev and Azərlotereya Chairman Osman Karakuş.

The event also included the presentation of Certificates of Appreciation:

The event showcased KRF’s implemented projects, including the Revival P demining machine gifted to ANAMA last year through local business contributions. Videos highlighting ANAMA’s demining operations and reconstruction efforts in the liberated territories were also presented.

Through initiatives like these, KRF continues to foster partnerships and mobilize resources to accelerate mine clearance and support the comprehensive revival of the liberated territories.
